The National Minimum Data Set Subcommittee (NMDS SC) provides technical advice about mental health data to the Mental Health Information Strategy Standing Committee (MHISSC).
The NMDS SC brings together jurisdictional representatives and members with relevant technical expertise in mental health data systems. The committee was established to oversee the development and implementation of the Mental Health Care National Minimum Data Sets (NMDSs) to address the information requirements of the National Mental Health Strategy.
The NMDS SC reports to MHISSC. MHISSC in turn reports to the Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Principal Committee (MHDAPC) of the Australian Health Ministers’ Advisory Council (AHMAC). More information about the reporting relationships between health sector committees is available at the link below.

Specialist and diverse knowledge is required on the NMDS SC. NMDS SC members will bring with them a wide range of experience in issues related to mental health. The membership of the NMDS SC is endorsed annually by MHISSC.
